May flowers for the summer

I tried to choose some flowers that would come up again next year.  The pretty maroon flower in the middle is supposed to come up every year.  We will see how that goes next year.  I was not very pleased with it though.  It bloomed only once so this year I did not have much by way of color in my flower garden.
This was just a hard year all around fory my flowers.  Even the hardy petunias did not do well.  I cannot figure out why.  The only ones that flourished were the ones in the top right hand corner.  I would love to find some flowers that would bloom all summer long that are colorful, not weedy looking, nice and neat and come back again every year.  I think that would be called, "the Garden of Eden".
These I put on the south side of the house in the shade garden.

Recipe: Sunday Pot roast recipe

I have never had a good pot roast recipe.  I have only tried a few but stopped because it was such a costly experiment.  This is fabulous in the crock pot.  I got it from the lady who does my nails so I named it "Mindy's Sunday Roast"

MINDY'S SUNDAY POT ROAST

Ingredients:
2 to 5 pound pot roast
1 envelope Italian dressing (dry)
1 envelope brown gravy mix
1 envelope Ranch dressing mix (dry)
Potatoes, carrots, onions
1 to 1/2 Cup water

Directions:
Put roast in the crock pot
Put all veggies in crock pot
Sprinkle all 3 spice envelopes on top
Add water
Cook on low for 6 to 10 hours. The meat will be more tender the longer it cooks in the crock pot, on low

This really is a VERY easy and quick to make (NOT to cook though) recipe.  I am so grateful I found it.  Derek says he LOVES it!!!  Thank you Derek.
