Trip to Wasington

Hannah and I went to visit with Grandma and Grandpa Smith while Derek spent a week with his Grandpa Ely and cousin Jon.

This photo shows a traditon Hannah loves. This is Hannah's favorite book, "The Little Fur Family" When we visit Grandma and Grandpa Smith she loves for me to read this book to her every night. I love this tradition.

We took a couple of day trips with Grandma and Grandpa while we were visiting. A popular movie and book series out right now is the "Twilight" series. We went to visit the city that the story takes place.

This is the truck that the character "Bella" used in the movie.

I love taking adventures with my family. I feel so fortunate that my job makes so many adventures possible.

Here we are posing with some of the stars of the show/movie

This is the house of the Cullen's

Another wonderful area we were able to share together.

The forest was breathtaking!

This was at LaPush. It was quite etherial, mystical and magical.

Hannah with one of her very bestest friends in the whole universe. They spend hours together talking and laughing. She was able to borrow a pair of long boots so she could explore more into the ocean and that made the experience at the ocean even better. My ever prepared Mother had them in the trunk of her car.

It is an amazing life being able to see so many beautiful places with my best friends

Another of my very best friends has joined us in this photo.

All of us together, we had a great time but sure did miss Derek.

Here we are just about to enter into a very beautiful place. This trip was so wonderful for Hannah, she loves beautiful places and there are so many in Washington. Grandma and Grandpa were so generous in their time to share their time with us and take us.

This was Christine Falls. Hannah and I were quite amazed by the beauty. We loved this area. It was quite the sight.

On the drive down from the mountain we saw a dear on the side of the road. We were able to get quite close to the dear.

Hannah was very excited to be so close to a dear. It was great to be able to share that with her and for her grandparents to experience it with us.

Here we are back in Olympia at the Capital. Hannah and Stephanie were having a great time together catching a bunch of little crabs. We were there for hours, Grandma and I got some good walks in right on the beach, watched a woman paint the Capital and got some great visiting in. We could hardly get the girls to come home.

This is Hannah, Derek, Uncle Daniel, Jon, and Grandpa. This is just to prove that we really did have visitors at our house. Grandma Rita was also there.

Daniel drove Jon out from Vegas to be able to fly out from Salt Lake City to Seattle for a grandson and grandpa week together.

Derek was SO excited to have visitors at OUR house. We are usually the one that visits everyone. He has wanted that for so long. I have tried to explain that we live very far away from everyone and it is very expensive to travel and I just happen to have a very big thumb. (Since I can take us for free with my flight benefits). It was quite wonderful, I was able to get Derek on the same flight as his Grandparents and Jon. I went with them and watched the plane until it left. I have never put my kids on a plane without me and, yes, I was a bit rattled not being with him. He was very very excited though and had no problem whatsoever saying good bye to me. :)

This summer we have been having a "memorie summer". I have a huge list that I have kept of the favorite picture books that I have loved reading with Hannah and Derek. We are reading those picture books again from their early childhood. We sure are loving sharing those memories together again. I love having traditionsv with my family.

we are coming back again for the 4th of July weekend to have a family reunion with the Ely family and then back to Portland the 9th of July for our newly anual Broadway show tradtion with the Smith family. Last year we saw Wicked and this year we will see The Lion King.

Hannah has a favorite book that she loves for me to read to her when we are here at my parent's house. It is "The Little Fur Family" by Margaret Wise Brown. It is a book that I read to her and Derek when they were little. We love to have family traditions, I think it is important to not only have traditions but to name them and let the children know that what they are doing is

This is the first time that Derek has been away from me and I am missing him very much. It is all I can do not call him a couple of times a day. I thought that if Derek is out visiting with his Grandpa then it would be a good excuse to bring Hannah out with me to visit with my Mom and Dad. Hannah and I just got out here yesterday. I took Derek very early to the airport Monday morning to be able to fly out with Jon, Grandpa and Grandma Rita, then Hannah and I left later that day to come out to spend time with my family.

I love how my kids love what I love, visiting with our family.

Hannah and I have had a great time visiting with my parents and and Janna's family. It is wonderful to be able to relax and spend time talking with family.

I have been so anxious to find out how Derek has been doing I called Dixie, Jon's Mom, to find out if she has gotten any information. :)

Derek and Jon have been having a great time! They have been playing at the pond, climbing up and down the hills, throwing rocks (of course:) having s'mores, roasting hot dogs, playing with Pokemon cards, freezing in the Yert. (Last night they were so cold they ended up coming up to the house and taking a hot shower and sleeping in the guest bedroom. Today they went bowling with Katie Badger, Delilah's daughter. Katie is so much fun, everytime I've ever been with her she has always had a smile on her face. Derek LOVES bowling. I miss him swo much but I'm so glad he has this opportunity, we have such a wonderful family. Wednesday the 16th they went to Whidbey Island by way of a ferry boat. Last night Andy came into town. Derek was SO excited.

Yesterday, June 16th, Hannah, Grandma and Grandpa and I made the trek to Forks, the book Twilight's home. We had so much fun but it ended up being a 40 day and 40 night long drive. (VERY LONG) We have a ton of picutres.

We also went to LaPush coast which was absolutely georgeous. It was almost etherial, or magical in looks.

Today we are going to take Hannah to Mt. Rainier. I told her that we are going to sumit it but not to worry because it is only about 14,000 feet. You should have seen the look I got from Hannah. Don't worry, I didn't keep her going too long with the 14,000 ft fib. Hee Hee.
