Hannah's Patriarchal Blessing

Derek just outside the bird house. He is so grateful to his Grandpa in sharing a great interest and love of birds. We were so lucky to be able to share this special time with Aunt Roma and Uncle Spencer and their family welcoming in a new member so fresh from heaven. It was so great to be so close to such a sweet perfect new member of the family and world. Thank you to Grandpa and Grandma to take us out to visit with our family and give us this opportunity. Friendly little Cassandra sharing her baby sister with us Derek and Victoria. Derek sure has a sweetness about him. Derek and Uncle Spencer big and strong, getting the canoe ready for us. Thanks guys. Believe it or not, this has always been an interest of mine, something that I love to do, canoing. I know, hard to believe cause I am so NOT an outdoor person. I love being out on the lake with no motor, going slow and nice and quiet with the incredible beauty of the lake. The buddies together on the slide, photo courtacy of Spencer. It was so nice of him to take so many of these pictures for us. Hannah and her older brother, Andy Derek and his older brother, Andy The kids swinging I was so glad I got this shot, amazing huh! Uncle Spencer was giving Derek an "underdog" One of Hannah's many imaginative photo ideas. Me and Hannah holding hands Out enjoying eachother by the lake I LOVE this picture, Hannah is so incredible with her ideas of photo ideas. Here is another great pic, Derek was so smart to take his glasses off, he almost lost them in the lake. Smart (happy) boy The picture gives me a giggle, my Goldie's feet Aunt Roma, Victoria, Grandma, Grandpa, Brenden, Me, Andy, Derek, and Hannah. I wanted to show the great view they have of the lake from their living room and dining room. Derek back at Grandpa's getting the fire ready for his traditional hot dog and s'more roast. He was just like Paul Bunion. Hannah getting the Yert ready for her Patriarchal Blessing. She was such a great helper and great at being self motivated to clean the Yert for all her guests. The Yert looked sparkly clean! Hannah and Grandma and Grandpa Smith. Grandpa Smith is her best buddie. When they get together they are like two teenagers. Much smiles and laughter. Hannah and Derek, another set of great buddies. It always amazes me at how much these two love eachother. They have such a great bond. I am proud of them. I love to see them together. Derek and his older brother, Andy. These two are hillarious together. I am so grateful that they are such good friends. Derek has so many wonderful experiences with Andy. He brings so much laughter to Derek's life. Derek values laughter so much, I am glad that he has a friend that values laughter as much as he does. Derek and two wonderful loving men in his life, great friends, and great examples. He loves them so so much. Derek and his "brownie Grandma". He loves to make brownies with his Grandma. She is awesome in traditions and love and kindness. Hannah and Mom. I sure to love this tremendously amazing soul. She is one to watch. I love to hear all about what is important to her and how she shows what is important to her. Hannah and her Grandpa Ely. She was so touched and grateful that she was able to have her blessing by her Grandpa who loves and knows her so well. She will be forever thankful for this experience. Hannah and her beautiful amazing superhero Grandma. Everything she does is with the spirit. We learn so much from her. We came into Seattle last night via Southwest by the seat of our pants. I am so grateful we made the flight. Hannah has made the exciting choice to have her Grandpa Ely give her, her patriarchal blessing. Today we were able to go visit with Roma and her sweet family. We were able to see her new baby, Victoria. She was born March 11. It was so amazing to hold a new born baby. We are so grateful to Grandma & Grandpa to take us out to visit our family. My kids are so amazing in their values. They had the option of going to Seattle to the Space Needle and to a science museum and they chose visiting with family. I love their values. When we got to Roma's house we visited with their sweet family. They have a great lake in their backyard. Uncle Spencer took us down to the lake and Derek and I took my niece, Cassandra, with us in the canoe. The kids were so surprised that their mother who is definitely not a nature lover took the kids on a canoe ride. I really really enjoyed it. It was so beautiful and peaceful out on the lake and I could tell Derek was just loving it also. I absolutely love spending time with my family! After our canoe ride we played at the park by the lake. Grandpa, Uncle Spencer, Cassandra, Brendan, Hannah, Andy, Derek and I had a great time on the swings and other fun things. Hey, this is Hannah. I want to share my feelings on my patriarchal blessing. I had my blessing on March 27, 2011 at grandpa Ely's yurt. Grandma and Grandpa Smith and Ely, Grandma Jenny, Derek, Mom, Andy (An-Bin), and cellular Dad were all there to listen to my blessing. When grandpa gave me the blessing, I felt calm, at peace, and my muscled relaxed and felt like jello. I will never forget that feeling, I am so happy that I was able to get my blessing when I did. I love visiting family and so, me getting to see my family and get my patriarchal blessing (from grandpa Ely) was utterly amazing and a very spiritual experience. I am so thankful for the gospel to be in my life, without it, I don't know where I'd be. I am also thankful for where I live, no war, no poverty, plague, mass criminal work, or any other things like that are close to harming me. I hope that by the end of my life that I will be able to help out at least one person who has or is going through that and put a personal end to what that person(s) is going through. Hi this is Derek. I was glad that my sister was able to get her blessing and that I was there. I really loved our vacation. I love that my Mom takes me to see my family, I love them very much. And I am glad I can see them. My mom and my cousin and I went on a canoe ride. We went from one side of the lake to the other. It was a lot easier going to the first side than getting back. I really liked canoeing. I hope I can do it again with my mom and sister. It was at my Aunt Roma and Uncle Spencer's house. We went to see their new baby, Victoria. I loved to hold her. She was so tiny. I love to visit my bird at my Grandpa Ely's house. I have raised it since it was born but it stays at my Grandpa's house. But my Grandpa thought that it was a Button Quail, and there were two of them. When I called Grandpa he said that the birds are not Button Quail but regular Quail. I named them Woody and Buzz from one of my favorite movies, "Toy Story". Two weeks after they were born, Buzz died. I was so sad, I really cried a lot. Grandpa and Grandma and my Mom and Hannah helped me to feel better. There was also another bird that Grandpa and I rescued from the wild. His name was "One Eyed Willie" from another movie that I love called "The Goonies". The reason why I named him One Eyed Willie, is that he only had one eye. I knew that I wanted to take special care of this little bird who had been hurt. The day after we rescued him, he died. I was so grateful that he was able to have a good last day full of peace and love. We gave him a funeral and Grandpa gave a little talk. That made me feel a lot better.
