I just came inside to spend as much time as I can with Hannah. I was outside with Derek & his friend, Sam, enjoying watching them play track ball. Koda came outside with us & was being pretty good at first but then she stared playing keep away with the boys. They sure did have a fabulous time playing track ball. I was so glad they wanted me to share in the fun. What a privilege.
Then I came inside to be with Hannah. She has been very busy this week with work at a Day Care, volunteering at the library, babysitting, helping to organize, clean, & pack a neighbors house to help them move, & the last 3 days . . . Youth Conference. Youth conference has been at least 12 hours a day & today she had to be at the church at 5:30 am to walk 13 miles to the Salt Lake Temple. She did an amazing job with that & was ready to go even further! Derek & I met her at the temple along with the other youths families as a surprise. Then we went for a devotional in the Visitor Center. Then my marathoner went on to a swim party, talk about some energy!
The parents were asked ahead of time to write a letter of or love & encouragement for them to open half way through their walk. I love writing notes/letters to Hannah & Derek so I was so excited to do this for Hannah.
As I was sitting next to Hannah tonight at home Koda came and curled up in my lap. She is just like a little kid, she wants me to hold her a lot & she wants to sit on my lap & follows me all over the house wanting pets & hugs along the way.
It is so nice & powerful to be loved.

Koda and Mom
Helping and being helped by our neighbors our friends
This past week and a half we have had the opportunity to help help our good friends that have been the kids dentist for a couple of years and we have had the opportunity to babysit as a family also. I have even gone with the kids to babysit sometimes. This past week or so we have babysit them a bunch. We have had them over to our house which has been challenging & great. This family is moving all the way across the country. The parents have been very busy getting ready to move. It has been very hard to do all the packing and cleaning with 3 young children. The kids have been to our house quite a bit, I made dinner for them one night, Hannah went to help organize and clean, and Derek was an amazing playmate & "older brother" to care for them when they missed their Mom & Dad he helped them to not only be happy but laugh. He is an amazing boy.
I also had the opportunity to be helped by neighbors, our friends, the Schmuhls. I got hurt the last part of May and then the pain in my back got so bad that I ended up one morning hurting so bad that I had Hannah & Derek call the Schmuhls to take me to the hospital. They took me to the emergency room. They gave me a pain shot that took forever to kick in. I was getting worried that the pain shot wouldn't work. I couldn't believe how supportive Hannah & Derek were for me. For being so young they are so compassionate & so kind & concerned. I appreciate them so so much. It would have been so hard to go through this back problem alone. There have been days that I could hardly walk I hurry so bad. I have finally been able to go to Physical Therapy & that has helped a lot also.
I asked our home teachers to come over & give me a blessing. It was a great source of comfort not only for me but for Hannah & Derek. Derek was especially involved as he is very serious & excited to receive the Priesthood. He says that he wants to receive the Priesthood to give us blessings. Derek loves us so much, my children are a testimony of "small & simple things great this come to pass".

Primary activity
Derek & I had a great opportunity today. I am his primary teacher. In Primary we have been saving money we have been earning as a group by reading scriptures as a family or on our own, helping our family out, & generally being of service. After a while of everyone working together my class was asked by the Primary Presidency to take the money & buy Book of Mormons to give to the missionaries.
Derek & his friend, Sam, & I went to the bank to exchange the pennies we all earned as a Primary for paper money as I don't think Seagull Book & Tape would want to count out a couple thousand pennies.
Today I took the whole class & bought 6 Book of Mormons. We will be able to take them to church and present them to the rest of the kids who helped earn them.
While we were at the store an impressive thing happened. I know it might not seem like much but I am convinced that, "by small and simple things great things come to pass." Derek was looking with his friends at some posters that were created for kids to have real heros to look up to. They thought the posters were pretty great. I asked Derek which poster was his favorite. He chose the poster of David & Goliath. I was so impressed & happy he wanted it. I helped him hang it in his room as soon as we got home. We decided to get more & change them every month. It's great when kids/teenagers are impressed by heroes that will help them get to the real treasure, home.
After we got the Book of Mormons we all went to Iceberg & got icecream. We had a great time!

My great kids
My kids are such an inspiration to me. They are so far ahead of me at their young ages. Derek has completed all of his requirements (a while ago) for his Duty to God award. His birthday is not even until the end of August. Most of the time he would ask to have me help him with his Article of Faith memorization and other goals. I rarely had to remind him. He was so excited to get it done and do the great goals that were in the booklet. He truly amazes me. He is such a light and ray of sunshine, he is the literal silver lining when ever there is a cloud or storm in our life. His strength in this area surpasses anyone I know.
Hannah has passed all of her Young Woman requirements off when she was a beehive. She is an extremely self motivated girl even by adult standards. The only requirement she has left to pass off before she gets her medallion is to read the entire Book of Mormon. The kids and I arte choosing to study it rather than speed read it so we can more fully enjoy the feast rather than just merely snack. Both kids really enjoy this and often times are disappointed when we have to stop reading and discussing end learning to go to bed. This attitude is MILES ahead of where I was at there age and my Dad was one of the most favorite seminary teachers ever. So I had a great opportunity to learn from an amazing teacher. I am grateful for my parents great example to me.

Great game day
We had an amazing game day together. The kids & I went bowling together and had a great time laughing so hard and just being together. We invited a neighbor boy that is a best friend of Derek's, his name is Sam. Bowling is such a fun affordable sport. We spent less than $14.
Later Sam brought over some board games and the kids & I played a Harry Potter Scene It game. We all love Harry Potter so it made it all the more fun. I sure do love spending time with my kids. We have so much fun together.
We also love taking Koda for walks and being able to talk and just be together getting a little exercise. We have so many good talks that way. I am grateful my kids like spending time with me and that I love spending time with them.
